Gods of Rome Cheats

The maniacal demon known as Tenebrous has acquired the powerful ancient artifact known the Chaos Vessel. This vessel contains potent magic capable of enslaving the ancient world’s most powerful warriors, subjecting them to the deviant will of Tenebrous. You belong to the faction known as the Ascenders, the only men who can summon the souls of warriors and Greek mythological gods to fight alongside you. Tenebrous is bent on world domination and the only one that can stop him is you.

Travel from arena to arena, defeating Tenebrous’ henchmen and freeing the souls of ancient warriors to help you in your mission. Upgrade your armor and weapons, as well as your skills, to get strong enough to eventually fight Tenebrous and eventually regain control of the Chaos Vessel, thus ending his evil reign, freeing his prisoners, and restoring peace to the Earth.

Cheats & Tips for Gods of Rome

Starting with the controls there are very simple. Rather than opting for a console controller simulation Gameloft decided to really embrace the mobile format by allowing you to use touchscreen swiping and tapping to initiate attacks. If you tap on your enemy this will initiate a weak attack, if you swipe in their direction this will initiate a medium strength attack, and if you hold down and then attack, this will initiate a strong attack.

As far as defense you have to tap on the left side of the screen to block and swipe on the left side of the screen, away from your opponent, to retreat a few steps. Blocking works well but it won’t help you if your opponent has initiated a strong attack that can break your defenses or if they are using a special move.

There are certain vulnerabilities related to each attack and defense and I’ll detail those here. As far as attacks the weak attack is best done in threes, and followed by a block. This is because after the third consecutive weak attack your character will momentarily let down their guard and you opponent will likely take advantage of this by attacking, so block after the third one.

But that only applies if you are doing the same attack three times in a row, the same thing goes for medium strength attacks. This happens because the attacks are more like combos, and once you’re done there’s a little lapse before you can throw the next one, it’s only momentary so make sure to throw your defense up quickly.

Strong attacks are a different ball game altogether. You have to power up a strong attack for several seconds, what seems like hours when you’re in combat, thus leaving a huge defensive hole where an opponent can seemingly attack you at will. The only way to successfully complete a strong attack is to be in range of your opponent, this varies based on your character since some are capable of long range attacks whereas others are only capable of hand-to-hand combat. Also, the strong attack must be charged up to completion, if you are attacked mid-way through charging up, or if you let go for even an instant, you will lose all of your charge and you have to start all over.

Because of the limitations of strong attacks, and the vulnerable situation they put you in, I highly recommend taking a few hops back by swiping to the left, and then begin charging for your attack. This way, as soon as your opponent sees you hop back, they are going to want to pursue you to attack. As soon as they are close enough to hit, unleash your strong attack.

The best course of action in combat is to use a variety of attacks. If you keep using the same move over and over your opponent will catch on to your antics and they will quickly figure a strategy to take you out. Not only should you use a variety of attacks and combinations, you should also vary your defensive techniques, the player who has the element of surprise is more likely to win.

The final type of attack available to you is your character’s special attack. The special attack is your most powerful weapon and it is also the hardest to obtain. In the bottom left corner of your screen you’ll notice a bar with a circular symbol next to it. You will also notice that as the game progresses that bar will fill up until it’s full and the symbol will go from grey to green, this is a good thing, this is your special attack. When the bar is full and the symbol turns green, click on the symbol to unleash your epic special move. Be wary though as it takes nearly a minute if not longer to load your special move, so make sure your target is in range and you are ready to attack, otherwise it all would have been a waste.

It’s very important to have an understanding of your character’s traits, inside and out, especially their strongest moves and their affinities. Each character is vastly different in terms of their attack types, their bonuses, and their skills, because of this choosing the wrong type of player for a certain match could be the difference between winning and losing. Also, each character has a certain affinity for another player, in terms of Gods of Rome this means they play better when paired up with certain characters so figure out which pairs go well together.

The brutal reality is, when in campaign mode you have to look out for your strongest fighters the most, even at the expense of your other fighters. Often times you will only have enough resources, such as magic and potions, to regenerate the health of some but not all of your fighters. Even if you believe yourself to be the most equitable of people, don’t let your altruism translate to Gods of Rome, here it’s a dog eat dog world and your strongest warriors are your only hope. If that means your weaker players have to suffer then so be it. This also applies to upgrades but only to a degree, you want your weaker players to at least be better than other weaker players, just don’t waste too much money on them.

When in battle, sometimes you may find that even your strongest warrior is no match for the opponent. If this is the case, then send out a weaker player ahead of them. This may sound crazy but in fact it’s quite the clever tactic. Although your weaker player will definitely lose, they will at least be able to inflict some damage on the enemy and even if your player dies that damage will still be there when your stronger player comes in to clean up the mess.

There are several different modes as well; there’s story mode, special events, and Pvp. Starting with story mode, you start out with one warrior and you have to progress through several levels, each on harder than the next, within each level there are multiple opponents you must first defeat. Each road within a level eventually takes you to the same destination but they all go through different obstacles.

Sometimes  a road may lead you through harder enemies and you may pick up different items along that road, other times a road may have a level barrier where your players have to be a certain level to pass. Based on how many items you’ve collected, and how many people you’ve fought along the way, you will receive a score at the end of a level that indicated your percentage of completion for that level.

If you opt for the easy road you’ll find yourself with a lower completion percentage, which is all well and good for the time being but at some point when you reach the higher levels you will need to have completed at least a certain amount of levels all the way. The first few levels only have one path therefore you will get 100% every time, but once you get to some of the higher levels you’ll find that you absolutely must replay a level to get to 100%.

The best strategy for story mode is to start off by playing with your weakest characters since your enemy will get progressively stronger as you reach the end of the level, with the strongest enemy being the very last one. Just keep going with your weakest player until they absolutely can’t anymore.

There’s a handy guide on the menu before the battle, it’s a bar that indicates the likelihood of you beating your opponent, it’s based on stats mostly, if your odds are 50/50 or better I say go for it. Save your great players for the last few rounds as they cost much more to heal and they are the only ones that can get you the win against a tough boss.

Along the way you’ll accumulate coins, gems, you’ll receive gems, items, and you’ll spend energy. The energy system is very generous in Gods of Rome, rarely will you find it the case that you run out of energy as you’re constantly being rewarded with it if you win. Gold is also in abundance whereas gems are quite rare and are treated as the premium currency since they help speed things up.

Leveling up is a large part of Gods of Rome, first you have to enter the temple where you’ll see all of your available spheres. Spheres contain useful items and warriors, you obtain them through battle and through leveling up and reaching various checkpoints in the gameplay. Open all of your spheres to unlock your items and then you can proceed.

Now you’ll see your warriors, select one to upgrade them or sell them, keep in mind that you can’t sell a character if you only have 2 characters on your team. Select the items you’d like to use to level up your character and then upgrade them, also the more you want you upgrade the more you’ll have to pay in gold. Remember that “Ichor” is used to upgrade and “Panacea” is used to boost health.

You’ll also notice that you can receive items just by logging into Gods of Rome every day and accessing the temple, pretty cool way to get free stuff, also the more consecutive days you login the better the reward. There’s also a bonus for competing in Pvp matches and special events, however, you must have completed at least a few rounds in story mode before even getting the opportunity to play in other modes.

Gods of Rome Review

Gods of Rome is a brilliantly fun game with stunning graphics, a compelling storyline, and I really liked that they opted for controls that more naturally suited the touch screen devices they were intended for, rather than trying to simulate a console controller as many other developers do. Gameloft has always delivered with stunning graphics but I was floored by how gorgeous this game was, the details were amazing and the animation is top notch work. Many people in message boards complained of glitches but I experienced no such issues even after hours of gameplay, even if I did this game was only released a few days ago so these things are expected really.

Even the static artwork was beautifully painted. Furthermore, the sound effects and the soundtracks were as epic as the games plot, and need I say the plot was fantastic. There was an ingenious mix of myth and history, tying together the two worlds brilliantly with some fantasy overtones Truly a great release for the holiday season, I only wish they would have advertised it more so I would’ve known to download it sooner!
