PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is a multiplayer online survival game developed and published by Bluehole for Windows and Xbox One. The game is based on battle royal-style game mods previously developed by Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene for other games, but expanded into one standalone game under Greene’s creative direction. In the game, up to one hundred players parachute onto an island and scavenge for weapons and equipment to kill others while avoiding getting killed themselves. The available safe area of the game’s world decreases in size over a match, directing surviving players into tighter areas and forcing encounters. The last player or team standing wins the round.

The game was released on Steam’s early access program in March 2017. While in early access, the game had sold over two million copies within two months. Bluehole plans console releases following the full release of the Windows version, with an Xbox One version planned by the end of 2017.

In this post we are going to show you some tips and tricks that will make you take the first place on PlayerUnknown’s Battleground.

Customize Your Controls

Gamers sometimes forget to bind their keyboard keys to whatever suits them, which may cost them a match or two, so make sure to change those to whatever suits you before getting into a match.

Practice Marksmanship

In PlayerUnknown’s Battleground, the weapons are a little bit different compared to other games, make sure to check the weapons available in the waiting lobby, to get a better idea of them and get used to it.

Avoid Crowded Jump Sites

Once you do enter the deployment phase, where all the players are aboard the transport plane, try to avoid jumping out with a massive group of players.

For your first run, aim for a lightly-developed area; maybe one with just a few buildings that not many other players are disembarking above. This will reduce the likelihood that you’ll meet an untimely death as soon as your boots hit dirt.

Free Fallin

As soon as you leave the aircraft over your desired landing zone, aim downwards as fast and as far as you can. The second you leave the plane, the battle has already started.

Unfortunately your parachute opens automatically at ~500 feet up, but you can still expedite your descent by pressing the FWD key to aim your character towards the ground. Be sure to keep an eye out for other players around you.

Get Inside ASAP

Once you do touch down the ground, run as fast as possible to the nearest building. Not only are there probably valuable items inside, but it will also give you cover from enemy fire and offer a chance to get the drop on anyone who may be pursuing you.

Choose Your P.O.V.

It’s important to experiment with both the third and first person camera modes. Third person is great for looking around corners and getting a better view of your surroundings. But third person view can get frustrating indoors since your own player model can block your view.

Focus on Survival

Spend your first few rounds getting comfortable with the pace of the game and navigating the playfield.

A high kill count is nice, but you’ll be infinitely better off if you focus on keeping yourself alive and learning the mechanics and feel of the game before hunting the deadliest game of all.

Vehicles Are Loud

While not an immediate death sentence, vehicles should be used cautiously in PUBG – they’re loud, and will draw a lot of unwanted attention from nearby players.

We hope you found PlayerUnknown’s Battleground really fun and have improved your game as a result of this list of tips and tricks you can get throughout the game. Now it’s time for you to start hunting and get that first place, Happy gaming!
