Imagine being nothing but a smalltime contractor and getting the opportunity of your live time where you get to design and construct your very own city. Just like many other cities, you start off small, construct a couple of houses and commercial buildings. After attracting people to your town, you will see it grow, and the demands for housing and jobs increase. Construct houses, farms, radio towers and everything that your little town needs, in order to prosper into a city.
City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon has been developed and successfully released by developer Sparkling Society, who are well known for other popular simulation games. The game has only been released very recently, and already it has been downloaded over one hundred thousand times with an astonishing rating of 4.4 out of 5 on Google Play Store in 2016. It’s also on the iTunes App Store for 2016. City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon is free to download and play, and does not require you to have an internet connection.
After you have successfully downloaded, installed and started City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon, you will be taken to the main menu of the game. You are not required to log in with any of your social media accounts such as Facebook or Twitter, unless you want to share your gameplay moments with your friends. After you have tapped on the play button, you will be taken to the world overview, on which you will see that there are six different islands that you can build on.

About City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon

Just like many other mobile games, only one of those islands will be unlocked for you. In order to unlock and play on the other islands, you will first have to construct certain buildings on your own island, which is called Pleasant Plains. After you tap on your own island, a tutorial will start, teaching you how to properly play the game. During the tutorial, you will learn that the goal of City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon is for you to start constructing your own town, attract people to it by constructing houses and commercial buildings, and start earning money by rent and taxes.

City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon Tips and Cheats

As stated above, you will first start with an empty plot of land. In order to attract your first citizens, you will have to construct a couple of houses. You do this by going to the buildings, tapping on small houses, choosing the plot you want to construct them on and tapping on the green “ok” button. You can construct any building in City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon either by waiting a certain amount of time, or by instantly constructing them. The first option allows you to purchase the buildings with the basic currency of the game, while the latter option only allows you to purchase and construct the buildings with the premium currency of the game.

You can also purchase and start the construction of buildings by using the basic currency of the game, afterwards you can speed up the construction by using the premium currency. Next to the basic and premium currencies, you also only have a certain amount of construction workers, which means that you can only start the construction of a certain amount of buildings, before you are forced to wait. Naturally, you can hire more construction workers; however, I will tell you guys more about that in the City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon in-game store section.
Once you have constructed several buildings, it is important that you connect them with roads, because this will allow your citizen to drive between them. Your citizens will have to pay rent for their houses, which you can collect by tapping on the dollar signs on top of their houses.

There are also many commercial buildings available in City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon. Just like houses, the commercial buildings in City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon generate in-game currencies for you to collect. Mostly, the income from commercial buildings is in the form of taxes.
You can check out the statistics of a building before you construct it. For example, constructing a small house will reward you with fifty experience points, and provides housing for ten people. With commercial and community buildings, you can see how many experience points you will earn, how much profit you will make off of those buildings and how much happiness it provides. At the top-right of your screen, there is a happiness meter, which tells you how happy your citizens are. The higher the happiness meter is, the more profit you will make off of your people.

After you have gained a certain amount of experience points, you will level up your character. By leveling up your character in City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon, you will unlock different kinds of buildings, which also cost more to construct; however, they also have a higher profit rating. As stated above, in order to unlock different islands in the game, you will have to construct a specific building, which you need to unlock by leveling up your character. Once you are out of free space on your island, you can always upgrade your buildings to gain more experience.

There are two kinds of currencies in City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon. The first currency is in the form of in-game cash, and is considered to be the basic currency of the game. You can easily obtain in-game cash by simply playing the game, collecting rent and taxes from your buildings and by leveling up and earning rewards. The second currency in City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon is in the form of gold bars, and is considered to be the premium currency of the game. It is almost impossible to obtain gold bars by playing the game. If you are lucky, and you have gained enough experience, you will be rewarded with a small amount of gold bars when you level up.

City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon Tips and Cheats

You can use both currencies to purchase buildings in five different categories. The categories are called; Houses, Commercial, Community, Decorations and Construction Workers. The first four categories contain buildings that you will need to construct, in order to prosper your town. All of the buildings are purchasable with in-game cash; however, this does mean that you will have to wait a certain amount of time for the construction to finish. You could also use your gold bars to either instantly construct your buildings, or to instantly finish the construction.
You can upgrade your workshop by using in-game cash, which allows you to recruit more construction workers. The more construction workers you have, the more buildings you can construct at the same time. Upgrading your workshop does get quite expensive though.
Of course, you can also purchase in-game currencies with real money, if you wish to do so. The price for in-game cash starts at $2,99 for the smallest amount of 1.250.000 in-game cash and goes up till $69,99 for the largest amount of 32.000.000 in-game cash. The price for gold bars starts at $2,99 for the smallest amount of 40 gold bars and goes up till $69,99 for the largest amount of 900 gold bars. You can also earn free gold bars by completing offers through Tapjoy.

Cheats & Tips for City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon

There are many websites on the internet that claim to be offer working cheat tools, hack tools or modifications for City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon, even though the game has only recently been released. By downloading and using those so called cheat and hack tools, you can allegedly hack into your game files and give yourself an unlimited amount of in-game cash and gold bars. Of course, there is no way that such tools will ever work, simply because I have tested about a hundred of them, and they all gave me the same results. The reason why there are so many fake cheat tool websites is because the scam artists behind them earn a lot of money by doing so.

For example, if you search cheats for City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon, you will easily find a dozen of websites with so called cheat tools. All of those websites look very generic, filled with ads and are usually pretty confusing. Once you have found the download button, you will be redirected to a download website, which require you to fill in a survey. It might sound weird, but for every survey that gets filled in, the scam artists behind those fake cheat websites earn a lot of money.

City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon Gameplay Tips and Tricks

There are no real tricks to instantly become very rich in City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon, but that is not such a big problem. The bigger problem in City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon is that you need to wait for all of your buildings to finish constructing, which can take whole days. Luckily, I know of a little trick that you can use to instantly finish constructing any buildings, without you having to wait for the timers to run out. This trick also does not require you to spend your gold bars.

The trick that you need to use is called the time-lapse cheat, which basically means that you need to forward the time on your mobile device, in order to trick the game into believing that a certain amount of time really has passed by. For example, if you have started the construction of several buildings that take three hours to complete, you can easily close down your game, forward the time on your mobile device by three hours and start the game again. You will notice that your buildings are already finished constructing, allowing you to collect rent and taxes.
You should not go overboard when you are using the time-lapse cheat, simply because it is possible that the game has checks in place. If the game somehow does catch you exploiting the timer system, you will most likely get banned and lose your game progress.

City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon Review

Before I started playing City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon, I already knew what to expect from the gameplay, especially because I have already played the second and third instalments of the same game. Nevertheless, I did enjoy playing City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon, simply because I enjoy playing simulation and city builder games. I like the fact that the developers managed to make the game feel original, even though there are several prequels to the game.
A positive aspect about City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon is that you are free to construct buildings wherever you want, as long as the plot of land is empty. Having this freedom really enhances the gameplay in my opinion, and makes the game way more entertaining to play.

Unfortunately, City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon also has several negative aspects. For starters, I really dislike the fact that the fact that the developers have implemented so many annoying and obstructive advertisements into the game. The advertisements come in the form of pop-ups, which show up randomly at any given time. This makes it feel like the developers are trying to trick people into accidently tapping on those advertisements, simply to earn money off of them. This makes City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon feel like a cheap cash grab, which is unfortunate. On top of that, the developers do not even give you the option to remove those advertisements.

Another negative aspect about City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon is that the game developers have added playtime limitation systems into the game. The playtime limitation systems come in the form of timers and construction workers. Every time you start construction a building, you will have to wait a certain amount of time. At the beginning of your gameplay, those timers will be anywhere between a couple of minutes, up till an hour. While that doesn’t sound so bad, the timers do get significantly longer, the more you progress through the game. This sometimes means that you will have to wait whole days for the construction of a building to finish.

Next to the timers, you also have a limited amount of construction workers. In order to construct a certain building, you will need to use several of your construction workers, which means that the amount of buildings you can construct at one time is very limited. Of course, you can instantly construct buildings and hire more construction workers by using your gold bars; however, the developers should not expect everyone to spend real money on the game.

City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon Ratings

Artwork: I give City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon an 8/10 for its artwork. The graphics, animations and special effects in City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon are very decent, especially considering that it is a free-to-play mobile game. I really like the fact that there are so many different building designs in the game, which makes it feel like you are playing a city builder game for PC.
Music & SFX: I give City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon a 7/10 for its music and SFX. There are two soundtracks and several sound effects in City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon, all of which are of decent quality. I really like the fact that the developers managed to combine the soundtracks and sound effects with the graphics and animations of the game, making the game balanced.
Story & Originality: I give City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon a 7/10 for its story and originality. Even though there is not much originality in City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon, especially since it is the fourth instalment of the series, I still believe the developers have done a great job. I have never seen some of the features that are in these series, in order city builder games.
General Gameplay: I give City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon a 7/10 for general gameplay. The gameplay in City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon starts with a well-build tutorial, in which you will learn how to properly play the game. Once the tutorial is finished, the gameplay becomes pretty straightforward; however, it remains entertaining due to all the different available buildings. The controls are quite responsive and the user interface fits the overall theme of the game.
Addictiveness: I give City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon a 5/10 for addictiveness. Unfortunately, I can’t really say that City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon is very addictive. If the developers want to increase the addictiveness of the game, they should really consider decreasing the amount of advertisements and timers they have implemented into the game.
All things considered, I give City Island 4: Sim Town Tycoon a 7/10.
