How do I get around New York City in The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

Most of the time, you’ll swing your way across the Big Apple. Jump off a building and you’ll be able to initiate a web swing by holding down on the screen once you’re in mid-air. Be sure to release and press it again to initiate a new swing to keep moving.

In addition, you can also perch and climb up the sides of buildings, and run around the city on foot. This is usually the best way to reach objectives, as sometimes your swinging will cause your character to go so fast he passes right by the marker. Find a secure spot and walk your way up – there’s usually no time limit, so you can get there with ease.

How do I fight enemies in The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

You’ll come across comic book villains and other thugs throughout New York City. To fight them, get close enough to engage a quick web attack so you come in swinging. From there, you’ll have access to melee strikes and web moves, which you can combine together into seamless combos.

If an enemy is about to hit you from behind – which is indicated with red lines appearing right above their heads – hit the counterattack button. You’ll initiate a quick move that will stop them from chipping away at your energy, and look slick in the process.

Don’t worry about homing in on a certain enemy when fighting groups. Spidey will automatically face the thug closest to him, so you can take him out first. Be sure to watch for attacks from behind!

How do I complete missions in The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

There are two types indicated on your HUD – red and blue. In order to collect clues to complete the blue missions, you’ll need to complete red missions, which consist of anything from pleasing a Spider-fan with a quick autograph to saving an innocent person from thugs.

As you complete these missions, you’ll not only get closer to completing the main storyline mysteries, but you’ll also cash in on a number of coins, which you can use to power up your character. Complete as many as you can, even if you want to move along with the story. These advanced abilities will help you out in the long run.

What items can I purchase in The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

There are a number of goods up for grabs, including Spider Serum, which increases his health when needed; Sensory Overload, which helps him detect locations of hidden items; Hyper Potion, which accelerates his powers; and Blue and Red Boosters, which can beef up his powers when he’s in an Arena. You can also purchase Arena keys here, which open up areas where Spidey can knock a few heads around and earn extra cash.

Do I need to pay for anything in The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

The core game is $4.99, and a reasonable value if you’re a fan of the comic books or films. However, if you want more, you can buy secondary suits anywhere from $4.99 to $7.99 apiece, or a complete package for $25.99. They’re a bit expensive, and don’t really add much overall power to your character, so only buy these if you want to have everything the game has to offer.

In addition, you can buy additional packs to improve your power right away, including a Nano Structure Pack for $1.99, or you can use your cash to buy in-game spider points to purchase them. Points range from $1.99 for 2,500 to $99.99 for 160,000.

Hold off on purchases until you see how many coins you earn by completing missions. It may take a bit longer, but it’s fun to play through them, and you’ll save cash in the process.
